Dr. Ken Theus - Lead Veterinarian

Dr. Theus has spent nearly 10 years living and loving the Texas Hill Country.

He comes to Cibolo Creek Veterinary Hospital after working the past 9 years at several vet clinics in the San Antonio area. In 1998, he attained an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Washington and Lee University. Dr. Theus earned his veterinary degree from Kansas State University. In his last year of vet school, he was awarded the Gentle Doctor Award and he continues to bring that gentle kindness into the practice every day.

Originally from Louisiana, he has worked in various locations around the country including Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. Dr. Theus has a variety of professional interests including soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, exotic animal medicine, and behavior.

Dr. Theus lives his sheep ranch in the Hill Country with 5 Border Collies, 2 donkeys, sheep, goats, ducks, and geese. In his free time away from work, Dr. Theus enjoys training herding dogs, fishing, travel, cooking, competing and judging herding events around the country. You can see he and his Border Collies herding his sheep in the Western Heritage Parade in San Antonio every February.
